The Urban & Environmental Policy Institute is dedicated to the development of a more just, livable, and democratic region through research, education, community partnerships, organizing, and policy analysis and advocacy.



The Urban & Environmental Policy Institute (UEPI) is a community oriented research and advocacy organization based at Occidental College in Los Angeles.  

It serves as the umbrella for a variety of affiliated programs addressing work and industry, food and nutrition, housing, transportation, regional and community development, land use, and urban environmental issues.

Researchers working with the various centers and projects at UEPI publish their work in the form of reports, fact sheets and findings.

In some cases centers and projects also recommend related Web sites of other groups and organizations that provide additional topical information.
